Bottom Line Ranch

Located on the West Side of San Miguel, California, Bottom Line Ranch is made up of Cabernet Sauvignon on multiple root stocks, primarily St. George and 1103P. Block 7  on the map shown below is in the process of being converted to Petit Syrah and Petit Verdot on 1103 root stock.

The unique site at Bottom Line allows these vines to be grown on varied topography. Consisting of extreme slopes and terraces, this terroir lends a hand in producing desirable outcomes in the fruit for winemakers. 

As a newly replanted vineyard, a lot of thought went into the process of choosing root stocks and clones that matched the site and climate of the vineyard. The Boneso family specifically wanted root stocks with high vigour and a high drought tolerance in order to save water during the growing season, moving towards a sustainable approach. We have also implemented state of the art water monitoring systems to cut back on the percentage of water usage. Bottom Line will be ready for harvest in 2016, with the replanting proving very beneficial.
